Correct accessory
Match the rear camera and cable to your V5 revision.
Correct port
Connect to the main unit’s rear-camera port.
Saved clip
Confirm rear footage in playback before driving.
Start with the main unit.
Connect the rear camera
With power off, connect the matching rear-camera cable between the rear accessory and V5 front unit. Use the rear-camera port rather than the cabin-camera port.
Mount & route
Choose a clear rear view, mount securely and route the cable without pinching it or obstructing airbags and vehicle controls. Adjust the view while parked.
Check channel selection
The linked guide allows front, rear and cabin accessories to be connected, but says only two channels record at once. Select the intended pair and verify that rear footage is being saved.
Confirm the footage you need.
Memory card in the main camera
The V5 guide lists Class 10/UHS-I or faster microSD up to 256GB. The rear accessory does not have a separate card workflow in this guide.
Format on the V5
Back up files first. On the main unit: OK to stop recording → MENU twice → UP/DOWN to Format → OK. This erases stored recordings.
Review & copy
Hold MENU to switch to Playback and use UP/DOWN and OK. For computer transfer, use a card reader or USB Mass Storage. Videos are in CARDV/MOVIE. Test the actual saved rear clip, not only the live preview.
Isolate the connection.
No rear picture
Power down before reseating the correct cable connections. Check the selected recording pair and confirm accessory compatibility. Do not force a connector or substitute a similar-looking camera.
Main-camera Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is controlled on the V5 main unit: hold OK, join its displayed network, then use Rexing Connect. The guide lists default password 12345678. The rear camera is not paired separately.
Parking recording
Parking operation depends on the main unit and a compatible Smart Hardwire Kit. Confirm the full V5 and accessory setup with Support rather than assuming a universal harness or parking setting.
