01 / QUICK START

Set up before you head out.

Use OFF for card and battery changes, TEST for settings and review, and ON for unattended capture.

STEP 01

Install eight AA batteries.

With the switch OFF, open the battery compartment and install a matching set of eight AA / LR6 batteries according to the polarity markings. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.

STEP 02

Prepare the microSD card.

The H2 specification table and official support page list cards up to 256GB. Use Class 10 / UHS-I or faster. Insert or remove the card only with power OFF.

STEP 03

Configure in TEST.

Press MENU in TEST mode. Use UP / DOWN to browse settings, LEFT / RIGHT to change values and OK to save. Set the date, time and capture mode, then press MENU to exit.

Format after backing up.

In TEST mode, press MENU and select Format memory card. Confirm with OK only after copying files you want to keep. Formatting erases the card. Take and review a test photo before leaving the camera unattended.

Before deployment: Close the housing and secure the DC-port cover. Switch ON and allow the approximately 15-second startup countdown to finish. Use an H2-compatible external power supply only after checking its specifications with Rexing.
02 / WI-FI AND GCAMPRO

Connect nearby.
Review on your phone.

Use the GCamPro app identified in the H2 manual. Bluetooth helps establish the connection; camera Wi-Fi carries the local app session.

  1. Prepare the phone and camera.Install GCamPro using the manual’s app QR code. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone. Switch the H2 ON and let the 15-second countdown finish.
  2. Add the camera in GCamPro.Tap Add Camera, allow the app’s Bluetooth access and tap +Add to open the Bluetooth list. Follow the app prompts to activate camera Wi-Fi.
  3. Join the camera network. In phone Wi-Fi settings, select the network beginning “Trail Cam Pro”. The manual lists the initial password as 12345678; use your changed password if you have customized it.
  4. Return to GCamPro.After Wi-Fi connects, return to the app to view files, download captures and change camera settings.
Open the illustrated Wi-Fi guide ↗
Network not appearing? Confirm the app has Bluetooth access and camera Wi-Fi has been activated, then refresh the phone’s network list. The manual suggests allowing about 10 seconds for the network to appear.
03 / CAPTURE SETTINGS

Choose how the story unfolds.

Photo, Video and Photo + Video capture respond to motion when PIR monitoring is active. Check the timing settings before testing.

Motion and shot delay.

Adjust PIR sensitivity for the scene and turn side sensors off if nearby movement causes unwanted triggers. Shot Lag sets a delay after an event; new captures pause during that interval.

Shot Lag: 5 seconds to 60 minutes

Mount securely and walk across the scene in TEST mode. Blue indicates side-sensor detection; red indicates front-sensor detection. Avoid direct sun and branches moving in the wind.

Time lapse and daily hours.

Time Lapse disables PIR and captures at your chosen interval. Target Recording Time restricts recording to the selected daily start and stop times.

Time Lapse ON = interval capture, PIR disabled

For a basic motion test, start with Time Lapse Off and no active recording-time restriction, then apply the schedule you need.

Resolution and frame rate work together.

The H2 manual lists 4K (3840 × 2160) at 10 fps, 1080p at 30 fps and 720p at up to 60 fps. Choose a setting that suits your subject’s movement. Longer clips and larger files use more power and storage.

04 / REVIEW AND BACK UP

Three ways to find your files.

Save a separate copy of important photos and videos before deleting files or formatting the card.

ON THE CAMERA

TEST → REPLAY.

Move the switch to TEST and press REPLAY. Browse with UP / DOWN; press OK to play or pause video. Press REPLAY to exit image review.

ON YOUR PHONE

Open the TF Card view.

Connect through GCamPro and open TF Card / Album. Select the files you need and use the app’s download option. Downloaded files are available in the phone album.

ON A COMPUTER

Copy the DCIM folder.

Switch OFF and use a compatible card reader, or connect the camera with its supplied USB data cable. The manual describes a mass-storage connection with captures in /DCIM/.

File formats: Photos are JPG and videos are AVI. Actual recording capacity varies with selected settings and captured events; check remaining storage instead of relying on a fixed hours-per-card estimate.
05 / TROUBLESHOOTING

Get back to watching.

Start with battery power, card space and the correct camera mode. For app issues, check both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Ask Rexing support →
Which memory card does H2 support?

The H2 specification table and official support page list microSD cards up to 256GB. Use Class 10 / UHS-I or faster and format the card in the camera after backing up important files. Switch OFF before inserting or removing the card.

Which app should I use?

The H2 Wi-Fi instructions specify GCamPro. Use the app QR code in the H2 manual to find the matching app, enable phone Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and add the camera from within GCamPro.

Why does the phone say the camera Wi-Fi has no internet?

The camera Wi-Fi is a direct local connection for viewing and transferring files. It is not an internet hotspot. Keep the phone connected to the camera network and return to GCamPro.

How do I return to automatic recording after using the app?

Return to the GCamPro main interface and use the Power off control at the upper right to close the Wi-Fi connection. The manual says this returns the camera to its sleep-hunting mode. Leave the physical camera switch in ON for unattended operation.

Why is the camera not recording motion?

Check power, writable card space and the ON switch position. Time Lapse disables PIR motion triggering; Shot Lag pauses new captures between events; Target Recording Time limits the active hours. Confirm these settings before testing the detection area again.

Can 64GB store a fixed number of recording hours?

Recording time varies with resolution, frame rate, clip length, audio and the number of photo captures. Check available space and back up important recordings regularly.

Why are there empty pictures or too many triggers?

Reposition the camera away from direct sunlight, moving branches, heat sources or reflective water. Adjust motion sensitivity and consider turning the side sensors off if nearby movement causes repeated triggers.

Why are night images dark or video clips shorter than expected?

Check the batteries and card space. The manual notes that low battery power can stop the infrared flash or shorten clips. Keep subjects within the supported night range and allow enough time between captures.

Why did my settings not stay saved?

Press OK after changing a setting in TEST mode, then MENU to exit. Confirm time, date and capture mode before moving the switch ON.

I forgot the password or need firmware. What should I do?

Contact Rexing support with the exact H2 model and current firmware version. Use recovery or update files confirmed for that device; do not install files intended for another H-series camera.
