01 / QUICK START

Power. Card. Setup.

Follow the H1 Blackhawk manual for your camera. Its card capacity, battery options and playback controls differ from the original H1.

STEP 01

Install AA batteries.

With power OFF, install four or eight AA alkaline batteries following the polarity markings. For four batteries, use the complete upper or lower group of compartments. Secure the battery cover.

STEP 02

Insert a writable SD card.

Use a Class 10 or faster SD card up to 128GB, sold separately. Open the housing and insert it until it clicks. Check that its write-protection switch is unlocked.

STEP 03

Set it up in SETUP.

Move the switch to SETUP. Press MENU, use UP / DOWN to select an item and OK to enter or confirm. Set date, time and capture mode. MENU returns to the previous menu.

Format after backing up.

In SETUP, open MENU → Format Memory and confirm Yes only after copying files you want to keep. Formatting deletes all card data. Test a photo before leaving the camera in the field.

Battery reminder: Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. The manual advises against 1.2V rechargeable AA batteries because their voltage is insufficient for this model.
02 / SWITCH AND BUTTONS

MODE and SHOT.

MODE switches among Photo, Video and Playback. SHOT takes a photo or records video in the matching capture mode; in Playback it enlarges a photo.

Choose what happens
when wildlife arrives.

Select Photo, Video or Photo & Video. The manual offers photo settings up to 16MP and video up to 1080p.

Motion and sensitivity.

Choose Low, Middle or High sensitivity to suit the scene. Side Motion Sensors can be switched on or off. Avoid aiming at hot objects, exhaust vents or lights that may cause unwanted triggers.

Shot Lag: 5 seconds to 60 minutes

Shot Lag controls the delay between motion events. A long delay can explain why a new event is not captured immediately.

Schedules and time lapse.

Target Recording Time restricts capture to your selected start and stop times. Time Lapse offers Normal, TL video and Off options.

Check Time Lapse when PIR seems inactive

For ordinary motion-triggered monitoring, start with Time Lapse Off and Target Recording Time Off while testing, then apply the schedule you need.

Make a short field check.

  1. Confirm the frame.Secure the camera with the mount and inspect the scene in SETUP.
  2. Save a test capture.Use MODE to choose Photo or Video, then SHOT to test. Review the result before deployment.

Ask Rexing support →
Which memory card should I use?

The H1 Blackhawk manual supports SD cards up to 128GB, Class 10 or faster. Check that the card is writable and format it in the camera after backing up important files. A memory card is not included in the package.

Can I use four batteries instead of eight?

Yes. The manual supports four or eight AA alkaline batteries. When using four, install all four in the upper or lower group of battery compartments, following the polarity markings. Use a matching set and do not mix old and new batteries.

Can I use rechargeable AA batteries?

The manual states that 1.2V rechargeable AA batteries provide insufficient voltage and are not recommended. Use the AA alkaline batteries specified for this model.

Why is motion detection not taking photos?

Check that the camera is ON and allow about 10 seconds after switching from SETUP. A writable SD card must be inserted with space available. Check Time Lapse, Shot Lag and Target Recording Time, since these settings can change when capture occurs.

Why does the camera take empty pictures?

Move it away from hot objects, air-conditioner exhaust vents, lights and other sources that may cause unwanted triggering. Review PIR sensitivity and the side-sensor setting, then test the new position.

How do I review recordings?

Move the switch to SETUP and press MODE to select Playback. Use UP / DOWN to browse photos and videos. Press OK to play or stop a video. Copy important files before using Delete or Format Memory.

The camera will not switch on. What should I check?

Check battery polarity and power level. With power OFF, reload the batteries and try restarting without an SD card, as described in the troubleshooting guide. If the camera then starts, back up the card and format or replace it before testing capture again.

Why are picture colors abnormal?

The manual recommends turning the camera off, reloading the batteries and restarting. If the issue continues, contact support with sample images and the firmware version shown in the camera menu.

Should I install firmware intended for H1?

Use files confirmed for H1 Blackhawk and your exact hardware version. Contact Rexing support before updating if you are unsure. Do not interrupt power during an update. The original H1 and H1 Blackhawk have separate manuals and support entries.
