A good connection
starts at the outlet.
Check the charger label and your electrical supply before plugging in.
Use a suitable outlet.
This model has a NEMA 14-50 plug. Have a qualified electrician confirm the outlet, circuit capacity and grounding. The manual requires GFCI or RCD protection at the outlet or supply panel.
Inspect before use.
Check the cable, control unit, plug and vehicle connector for damage, corrosion or abnormal heat. Do not use damaged equipment or wet connections.
Give the cable room.
Lay the cable out without tight coils or sharp bends. Keep the control unit supported, clear of traffic and out of standing water. Do not use an ordinary extension cord or power strip.
32A is the charger’s maximum.
Choose a current that stays within the safe limit of the entire installation. The shape of a socket alone does not confirm its circuit capacity. Keep ground protection enabled.
Connect in a clear sequence.
- Check the rated supply.Confirm the outlet and voltage match your charger and that the equipment is ready for use.
- Plug into the wall outlet. The unit starts a self-check, described in the manual as about 5 seconds.
- Set the current before connecting the car.Wait for the steady blue standby light. Use the POWER menu if you need to change the current limit.
- Connect to the vehicle.Insert the J1772 connector securely. Blinking green indicates charging; steady green indicates the charger has finished.
- End the session safely.Stop charging using the vehicle’s controls before disconnecting. Follow your vehicle’s connector-release procedure and store the cable without pulling on it.

The charger reports charging finished.
Fault
Read the screen message and stop to check the cause.
Earth / leakage / voltage
Earth Protection, Leakage Protection, Overvoltage or Undervoltage: stop using the charger and have the electrical supply and equipment assessed by a qualified electrician.
Temperature / current / device
Overtemperature, Overcurrent, Relay Fault or Communication Failure: stop charging, note the message and contact support if the fault persists. Do not force charging by repeatedly resetting protection.
Get the next step right.
Check the charger label, selected current and exact screen message when troubleshooting.
Which vehicle connector and wall plug does this charger use?
The 32A model uses an SAE J1772 vehicle connector and a NEMA 14-50 wall plug. Check your vehicle inlet and the exact charger label before use. A different vehicle inlet may require an approved, compatible adapter.
How do I change the charging current?
With the vehicle disconnected and the indicator steady blue, hold SET for 3 seconds. Select POWER with a short press, then hold SET for 3 seconds to enter. Short-press to choose an available current that is safe for your supply, then hold SET for 3 seconds to return. Confirm the displayed setting before connecting the vehicle.
Can I set this charger to 40A?
No. This charger is rated for a maximum of 32A. Never exceed the charger rating or the safe limit of the supply circuit, outlet and any approved connection equipment. Ask an electrician to confirm your installation if uncertain.
Why is the actual charging current below my selected setting?
The setting is a limit, not a guarantee of the current your vehicle will draw. The vehicle’s charging limits, battery state, schedule and the available supply can affect charging. Check the vehicle settings and the charger’s display.
What does the TIME menu do?
The manual provides a TIME setting in one-hour increments, up to 12 hours. With the vehicle disconnected and the indicator steady blue, hold SET for 3 seconds, select TIME, then hold SET again to enter. Confirm the displayed timer and how it works on your unit before relying on a timed session.
What should I do when the light stays red?
Read and photograph the fault message. Stop charging and have the cause checked before reuse. Earth, leakage or supply-voltage faults need qualified assessment; contact Rexing for persistent charger, relay or communication faults. Do not repeatedly reset protection to force charging.
Should I switch off ground protection to clear an Earth Protection message?
No. Keep ground protection enabled. An Earth Protection message calls for an inspection of the supply grounding by a qualified electrician; disabling the protection does not repair the underlying fault.
Can I use an ordinary extension cord or travel adapter?
Do not use an ordinary extension cord, power strip or unapproved adapter. The manual prohibits extra wiring or plug adapters not specifically designed for this charging system. Confirm any accessory with Rexing and your electrician.
What if the charger or connector is wet or damaged?
Do not handle wet energized connections. Stop using equipment with water ingress, damage, corrosion, overheating or a burning smell. Isolate power safely and have the equipment checked before reuse. Keep the control unit and connections out of standing water.
