If an iPhone connects to your Rexing display but an Android phone does not, the product is not necessarily defective. Apple CarPlay is for iPhone, while Android Auto is for Android phones. Android settings also vary by phone manufacturer, so the first connection may require a few extra checks.

Before You Connect

Park safely and power on the Rexing product. Keep the phone close to the display, then confirm that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on, Airplane Mode is off, the phone is unlocked and no other phone is connected.

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto use both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth starts the pairing process, while Wi-Fi carries the main connection.

Connect an iPhone

1. Open the CarPlay screen on the Rexing display.
2. Select the Rexing device in the iPhone's Bluetooth settings.
3. Confirm the pairing request on both screens.
4. Accept the CarPlay prompts and allow CarPlay while the phone is locked.
5. Make sure Siri is enabled.

The first connection may take longer. After setup, the last-used phone should reconnect automatically.

Connect an Android Phone

1. Update Android Auto, Google Play services and related Google apps.
2. Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and temporarily disable any VPN.
3. Choose Android Auto on the Rexing display.
4. Pair the Rexing device from the phone's Bluetooth settings.
5. Accept the requested phone, microphone, notification and location permissions.
6. Keep the phone unlocked until Android Auto appears on the display.

Android Auto Still Not Connecting?

Try these fixes in order:

1. Restart the phone and power-cycle the Rexing product.
2. Turn off VPN, mobile hotspot and Wi-Fi sharing.
3. Forget the Rexing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, remove the phone from the display, then pair again.
4. Update Android Auto, Google Play services and the Android operating system.
5. Open Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Permissions and allow the required permissions.
6. Remove battery restrictions for Android Auto while testing.
7. Turn off Bluetooth on other previously paired phones in the vehicle.

Menu names may vary on Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola and other Android phones. Use the Settings search field if you cannot find Android Auto or battery optimization.
