01 / QUICK START

Ready for the first drive.

Follow the illustrated installation section in this version’s R88 user manual.

01

Insert a suitable card

Use a dash-cam-rated microSD card, Class 10 / UHS-I or higher, up to 256GB. Power the camera off before inserting or removing the card. Back up recordings before formatting.

02

Choose and secure your mount

Clean and dry the windshield. The guide covers the adhesive mount and electrostatic sticker. Position the camera behind the rear-view mirror without blocking your view. Follow the drying and mounting instructions for your chosen mount.

03

Connect vehicle power

Plug the supplied car charger into a 12V DC accessory outlet and connect it to the camera. The camera starts recording when it receives power. Press and hold Power to turn it on manually.

Check your version: Use the R88 guide linked here. Match the label on your camera before following firmware or accessory instructions.
Connect the rear camera: mount the rear camera as illustrated in the guide and connect it to the R88 with its rear-camera cable. Check the front and rear views before driving.
02 / TOUCHSCREEN & APP

Tap to connect.
Review your recordings.

Use the R88 touchscreen controls and Rexing Connect.

Enable camera Wi-Fi

With the camera powered on, tap the menu icon, open Setup and navigate to Wi-Fi. The camera displays its network name and password. Use those details in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, then open Rexing Connect and choose Connect. If your phone reports no internet, stay connected to the camera network.

Watch footage on the touchscreen

Tap the mode icon to enter Playback. Use the on-screen UP and DOWN controls to choose a clip, then tap its thumbnail. The playback controls let you pause, rewind and fast-forward. For a computer, turn the camera off before removing the card and use a compatible card reader.

Format a new card: Back up important clips first. Stop recording using the on-screen recording icon. Open the menu, then Setup; navigate to Format with the UP and DOWN controls and tap OK to confirm. Formatting deletes the card contents.
The guide lists these in the box: a 128GB microSD card and Type-C Smart Hardwire Kit. Package contents may vary by version; check your purchased package.
03 / PARKING MONITOR

Set up the power first.

Parking monitoring requires a compatible Rexing Type-C Smart Hardwire Kit. It supplies power after the engine is off and helps protect the vehicle battery.

Vibration detection setup

The R88 guide lists a Type-C Smart Hardwire Kit as included. Check your package and confirm compatibility before installation. Follow the kit instructions or ask a qualified installer for help.

Understand impact detection

The Gravity Sensing function detects significant or sudden movement and triggers an event recording. The guide suggests High sensitivity for parking recording; use the setting appropriate to your installation.

Do not enable Parking Monitor without the smart hardwire kit

The manual explicitly warns that enabling Parking Monitor without this connection may cause a malfunction. With the smart hardwire kit installed correctly, the camera can switch to parking mode when the engine turns off and return to normal recording when it turns on.

Motion detection uses a different kit: The guide specifies a Rexing 360° Intelligent Hardwire Kit (sold separately). Keep the camera’s Parking Mode setting turned off for this setup. The kit powers on the camera when motion is detected and recording continues until motion clears. Follow the exact kit instructions.
Too many locked videos? The guide recommends Low Gravity Sensing sensitivity when you do not use parking mode. Locked clips are not deleted by loop recording and can fill the card. Save important files before deleting clips or formatting.
04 / TROUBLESHOOTING

A clearer next step.

Use the R88 touchscreen and its own manual for setup.

Which card does R88 support?

The guide specifies Class 10 / UHS-I or higher microSD cards up to 256GB. Turn off the camera before insertion or removal.

Why do the old MENU button instructions not match my camera?

The R88 uses on-screen controls. Stop recording on the touchscreen, then open the menu and Setup. Use this page’s R88 manual for the icons and steps.

My phone says the Wi-Fi has no internet. Is that a problem?

The camera network is used to communicate with the dash cam. Stay joined to that network, then open Rexing Connect and choose Connect.

Can I record while parked?

Parking Monitor requires the compatible Type-C Smart Hardwire Kit specified in the guide. Do not enable it without that connection. The optional 360° Intelligent Hardwire Kit motion setup has different instructions, including keeping the camera Parking Mode setting off.

Why does the card fill with locked clips?

Loop recording does not overwrite locked event clips. Back up clips you need and review Gravity Sensing sensitivity. The guide recommends Low sensitivity when parking mode is not used.

Where do I get firmware?

Check the official firmware tool for your exact R88 hardware and version. If unsure, contact Support before installing an update.
