01 / QUICK START

Prepare for the first drive.

Mount behind the mirror

Clean and dry the windshield. Apply the electrostatic sticker, attach the adhesive mount with the correct orientation and adjust the lens without obstructing your view.

Insert the memory card

The July 2023 V1P-4K guide supports Class 10 / UHS-I or faster microSD up to 512GB. Power off before inserting or removing the card.

Format in the camera

Connect the supplied power cable, press REC to stop recording, then MENU twice for System Settings. Use REC/MIC to select Format and OK to confirm. Formatting erases files; back up first.

Confirm the version. This page follows the 072023Rev1 V1P-4K guide linked below. Earlier V1P Basic, Gen 3, Max and Pro revisions have their own support pages. Connect the supplied rear camera to the front camera using its dedicated cable.
02 / APP & PLAYBACK

Connect nearby. Save a copy.

Enable camera Wi-Fi

With the camera powered on, hold REC to enable Wi-Fi. Join the displayed network on your phone using the password shown on the camera.

Open Rexing Connect

Stay connected to the camera network, open Rexing Connect and tap Connect. The camera Wi-Fi is a local connection and may show no internet.

Review and disconnect

Use the app to view or download recordings. The guide specifies holding REC for 2 seconds to disconnect Wi-Fi.

Playback on the camera

Stop recording, use MODE to enter Playback, browse with REC/MIC and press OK to play or pause. MIC fast-forwards and REC rewinds during playback.

Computer transfer

Use a card reader or USB-to-Mini-USB data cable. For USB, select Mass Storage with OK; recordings are in CARDV / MOVIE. Copy important files to separate storage.

GPS is optional. The compatible Rexing GPS Logger is sold separately. When fitted, it records speed/location; the guide shows the GPS icon turning from blue to green after signal acquisition.
03 / PARKING MONITOR

Match the power kit to the mode.

Vibration detection

Use the compatible Smart Hardwire Kit, sold separately. It supplies parked power and allows automatic switching between driving and parking recording. The guide recommends High Gravity Sensing for parking events.

Motion detection

Use the compatible Rexing Intelligent Hardwire Kit, sold separately. It powers the camera when motion is detected. Keep the camera’s Parking Mode off for this setup.

Low-voltage protection

When the exact kit’s battery protection cuts power, the camera cannot record parking events. Check its documented settings and restore adequate power according to the kit instructions.

Without the required smart kit: do not enable Parking Monitor. If parking mode is unused, set Gravity Sensing Low to reduce unnecessary locked files.
04 / TROUBLESHOOTING

A clearer next step.

Settings will not open

Press REC to stop recording first. MENU once opens the current mode’s settings; MENU twice opens System Settings.

The card fills with locked files

Back up needed clips, review Gravity Sensing sensitivity and format the card in the camera when appropriate. Locked clips are not overwritten by normal loop recording.

The phone joins Wi-Fi but the app fails

Stay on the network displayed by the V1P-4K, open Rexing Connect and tap Connect. Do not switch to your home Wi-Fi during the connection.

How do I connect the rear camera?

With power off, connect the supplied rear camera to the front unit with the rear cable. Mount it as shown in the guide and check the rear picture and saved footage before driving.

Identify your V1P revision

Send the complete model, a photo of the label, firmware version and power-kit details. This helps distinguish the V1P-4K from earlier V1 versions.
