01 / FIRST SETUP

Test before
tucking cables away.

Check your camera label and inspect the connections before finishing the installation.

01 / CARD

Choose compatible storage.

The M2 manual lists Class 10 or faster microSD cards up to 128GB. Confirm compatibility before using a larger card.

02 / CONNECT

Connect the components.

Mount the mirror securely and connect the rear camera, GPS module and supplied car charger. Test with the supplied charger before final installation.

03 / TEST

Review a saved clip.

Record a short front and rear clip. Play each back and check the image, duration and timestamp.

Prepare a new card.

  1. Back up useful footage.Formatting removes all files, including protected recordings.
  2. Stop recording.Open System Setup → System Formatting → Confirm.
  3. Run your test again.Check that a usable file was saved after setup.
02 / TOUCH CONTROLS

The screen and the recording
are separate checks.

Make adjustments while safely parked.

Switch the camera view

Swipe up or down to switch between front and rear.

Toggle the backlight

A quick press of Power turns the screen backlight off or on.

Check recording

A flashing red indicator shows active recording.

Confirm a saved test clip after changing settings. A visible camera image alone does not prove a recording was saved.
03 / REAR CAMERA

A rear feed.
A reverse signal.

Check the video connection.

Seat the rear-camera cable carefully. Ask an installer to check connector alignment and cable routing if the image is missing or intermittent.

Picture and saved footage

Check automatic reverse view.

The red trigger wire connects to the positive reverse-light circuit. Have an installer identify and verify the correct connection.

Reverse-view trigger
Report which behavior fails: rear picture, rear recording or automatic switching when reversing. It helps isolate the connection that needs attention.
04 / PLAYBACK AND GPS

Find the clip.
Keep the original.

Open Playback and select the appropriate camera or protected-file group.

Card-reader folders

VIDEO_F / VIDEO_R: ordinary front/rear clips.
VIDEO_F_LOCK / VIDEO_R_LOCK: protected clips.
PICTURE: photos.

Copy useful clips to your computer before deleting files or formatting the card.
05 / PARKING MONITORING

Choose the mode.
Confirm the power.

Impact-triggered monitoring.

The manual describes a short protected recording after a detected impact while parked. Battery-powered monitoring needs sufficient charge; a compatible smart hardwire kit is another option.

Parking Monitoring: On

Keep time-lapse separate.

Turn time-lapse off for parking monitoring. The manual also says not to use time-lapse while driving.

Check both settings

If a hardwired camera stops receiving power.

A kit with low-voltage protection may cut power when its threshold is reached. Note whether the camera works with its supplied car charger, and send support the kit label and wiring details. Confirm the exact kit before changing cutoff settings.

Parking behavior can vary by firmware and power setup. Test it safely after installation and review the actual saved files.
06 / DRIVING ASSISTANCE

Calibration comes first.

ADAS uses the front view; BSD uses the rear view. They cannot operate simultaneously. Follow the manual’s calibration instructions after adjusting camera placement.

After moving the camera.

Recheck the view and calibration. Use the diagrams in the M2 manual to position the lines and warning areas.

Stay responsible for the view.

These alerts assist the driver. Check mirrors, surroundings and traffic yourself, and do not rely on an alert as permission to change lanes.

07 / TROUBLESHOOTING

A clear description.
A useful next step.

Include your model label, firmware, power setup and card details.

Which card capacity should I choose?

Start with the limit in the linked M2 manual. Ask support to verify compatibility with your camera and firmware before choosing a larger card; the older FAQ and manual disagree.

Why is the screen dark?

Check whether the camera is powered and whether recordings were saved. Try toggling the backlight. Tell support whether the issue affects only the screen or the entire device.

Why does parked recording not work?

Check the parking and time-lapse settings above, then confirm the power setup. Send support a photo of any hardwire kit label and describe what happens when the engine turns off.

Where are my rear or protected recordings?

Use the file groups listed in Playback above. Preserve the original card and report which camera view and time period are missing.

Can I use a guide for M2 Max or M2-4?

Use the complete model name on the device label. Those are separate products, and their instructions or accessories may differ.

How do I choose the right firmware?

Use the firmware lookup below or contact support with your label and current version. Do not update based only on a similar model name.
